What is the UPI transaction limit for a rupay credit cardThe transaction limit of a UPI transaction with a rupay credit card is generally up to ₹1 lakh per transaction for most payments, but it depends on the bank, merchant category and UPI app used. The payment must also be less than the available credit on the associated credit card.
India’s digital payments industry has seen exponential growth since the introduction of credit cards into the UPI ecosystem. It lets users link eligible credit cards to their UPI apps and pay via QR codes or UPI IDs.
At present, only RuPay credit cards are generally enabled for UPI payments. This integration was launched by National Payments Corporation of India to marry the convenience of UPI with the flexibility of credit card spending.
If users pay via UPI using a RuPay credit card, the charge is to the credit card, not an immediate debit from the bank account. This sum is subsequently added to the monthly credit card bill that must be paid off by the due date.
UPI has standard limits, of course, for the same reasons. For the majority of transactions on UPI in India, the limit is usually ₹1 lakh.
When a RuPay credit card is linked to UPI, the same overall limit typically applies. But the real usable limit is twofold.
First, the cap established by the UPI platform and payment app. Second, your credit limit on the credit card from the bank.
For instance, if the credit card’s available limit is ₹50,000, the user can’t spend more than that even if UPI allows up to ₹1 lakh. Certain merchants or new users, for example, may also have lower limits imposed by some banks.

While RuPay credit cards will enable easy UPI payments, some types of transactions might not be supported. For instance, peer to peer transfers between individuals are largely disallowed on credit cards on UPI.
Most credit card UPI transactions are for merchant payments including retail, bills and online shopping.
Furthermore, certain merchants might have payment limits or restrictions based on the payment gateway they use.
The system is also evolving under the watchful eye of the National Payments Corporation of India, and transaction limits may adjust going forward as the network grows.

As for the RuPay CC via UPI, that’s a nifty way to make smaller payments, but the user must exercise some discipline as far as controls go.
First, be sure to check your available credit limit prior to large payments.
Because the amount is included on your credit card statement, you need to pay it back in your billing cycle.
Second, don’t use your full credit limit very often. Being moderate in your use keeps you on a budget and keeps you from getting in over your head.
Third, check credit card statements for accuracy. By tracking where you spend, it keeps users in budget and out of interest.

And last but not least, always, always pay that credit card bill on time. Making payments on time ensures a good credit history with agencies like TransUnion CIBIL.
Responsible spending on credit cards using UPI can deliver the best of both worlds — convenience and long term benefits.
Typically, you can do up to ₹1 lakh, although it can change based on your bank ps, the payment application used to move money and the business category of the merchant.
Typically, you cannot. The UPI application is primarily set up to process merchant transactions. Payments with credit cards (credit cards) on the UPI application are done with the credit card issuer, so those transactions will not process P2P transfers.
Yes, you cannot exceed your available credit limit on your RuPay credit card even if the UPI merchant was to allow you to exceed their limits.
